PAPA prays for priests. Our vision is to see priests on fire for the Lord and His Church, the Body and Bride of Christ. "For the Lord gives wisdom, from his mouth come knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:6)
The priest, "persona in Christi" brings people to God, so that they will know Him personally and love Him with all their hearts. In our day to day dealings with one another, if we want to be close to someone, we spend time with them and get to know them. If we do not want to be close to them we see them occasionally but if we don't want anything to do with them we spend no time with them.
The Holy Spirit talks to us through Scripture, through other people but most important through the priest. We have all heard homilies that we felt were just for us. We receive the Holy Spirit in our hearts in a very personal way. We want priests to have a special and profound relationship with God. Theirs is not a "job" clocking in at 6 and out by 6. They have dedicated their lives to prayer, evangelizing and bringing the Truth to all. In so doing they get closer to God and have a loving relationship with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit.
This Lent pray for all priests to be holy, aware of their work as they have retreats, hear confessions and journey with us during this Lent. We pray that they will show us God through their example, their preaching, the Sacraments, especially confession and in the most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
MB remembers the advice given to him in confession during his troubled times. Yes, indeed, the Holy Spirit continues to allow those words spoken years ago to remain in MB's heart.
PAPA offers many opportunities to have a loving and beautiful relationship with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. Our website has many prayers, devotions, novenas that we can pray alone or with others. Weekly we have FACE ZBS and through the guidance of a spiritual theologian we walk with Jesus in the Gospel reading. Retreats, conferences and pilgrimages continue to remind us of the Word and the light of the Holy Spirit. Visit our website for more--papamio.org
My desire is surrender all to God and to allow the Holy Spirit to work in me. May the other half of Lent continue to be a journey where I am drawn closer to God. May I seek the praise that comes only from God. Many thanks to the dedicated priests who offered their all, sacrificed for God so that we can go to heaven. That is the most powerful job. May we pray for their continued work. https://www.papamio.org/a-prayer-for-priests.
