Gospel
Mk 3:7-12
Jesus withdrew toward the sea with his disciples.
A large number of people followed from Galilee and from Judea.
Hearing what he was doing,
a large number of people came to him also from Jerusalem,
from Idumea, from beyond the Jordan,
and from the neighborhood of Tyre and Sidon.
He told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd,
so that they would not crush him.
He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him.
And whenever unclean spirits saw him they would fall down before him
and shout, “You are the Son of God.”
He warned them sternly not to make him known.
Reflection
"He had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases
were pressing upon him to touch him."
Have you ever been to a "Healing Service"? I remember the first time I ever went to one. It was at the Charismatic Center in Houston. There was a priest that was going to be there from another country and he would pray over all the people that wanted to come and have Jesus heal them. My friend told me that this priest had a healing ministry. Jesus would heal people through this priest. I had never experienced any thing like it before.
Can you imagine what it was like to be there in Jesus' time? To actually see Jesus himself healing and touching these people. What about being there and longing to be touched by the healing hands of Jesus.
Praise God that there are priests that can bring Jesus to us and bring His healing touch to us also. Let us pray for our priests to be holy and for more holy priests to love Jesus with their whole heart mind and soul, so they can in turn help God's people to encounter Jesus. Here is the PAPA Prayer for Priests, and the Vocations prayer.
Here is a song that I would like to share with you. Jesus is the healer, and I pray His gentle touch will find you today. God bless you.
