Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time

Gospel MT 7:6, 12-14

Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.

“Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the Law and the Prophets.

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.”

REFLECTION

Have you ever tried to squeeze through a small space? Or have you gone spelunking?

Spelunking is cave exploring. It can be scary and uncomfortable trying to crawl and wiggle through a small opening not knowing what is on the other side.

And so, it is not easy to go through a narrow gate.. Jesus does not sugar-coat what it is like to follow Him. His disciples must be prepared to speak the truth. Or to stand up for what is morally right. Such thoughts and actions are not popular. Will you tell others that God exists? Do you pray in front of abortion clinics for parents to choose life for their unborn child?

Are you willing to “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many. How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.”?

Let us stand with the priests who speak the truth and are following Jesus. They have found "the gate and the constricted road that leads to life.". Please join us in praying the PAPA Prayer for Priests.
