From fraud and violence, he shall redeem them, and precious shall their blood be in his sight. May they be prayed for continually; day by day shall they bless him. (Psalm 72:14)
Reflection
How can you redeem someone that always lies? Committing fraud is a serious crime of stealing with a lot of lies. You can't nullify a lie with more lies. Lies plus lies equates to more lies! So, with the Truth, Jesus sets people free from their entanglement of lies.
Similarly, with violence. Has more violence ever resolved violence? Jesus was a victim of violence. The Romans viciously scourged Him and tortured Him all the way to Calvary. Did He respond back with violence? Instead He said, "Forgive them, Father, for they not know what they are doing" (Luke 23:34). His precious blood redeemed all sinners from the past, present and future.
So what lie has Jesus been untangling for you? What Truth has He revealed to you during the Epiphany period?
He is patiently waiting for you at Confession as you are precious to Him.
