FRIDAY OF THE FOURTEENTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME JULY 10, 2020

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Gospe Matthew 10:16-23

Jesus said to his Apostles: “Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and simple as doves. But beware of men, for they will hand you over to courts and scourge you in their synagogues, and you will be led before governors and kings for my sake as a witness before them and the pagans. When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You will be given at that moment what you are to say. For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will hand over brother to death, and the father his child; children will rise up against parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved. When they persecute you in one town, flee to another. Amen, I say to you, you will not finish the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”

The Gospel of the Lord

Reflection: "For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."

When PAPA was formed we knew that our mission of “Go and make disciples of all nations” could be accomplished through Jesus. He promised, “Behold, I am with you always until the end of the age.” (Matthew 18:20)

We pray with confidence and we choose to pray together as the means to be with Jesus always. Our sole purpose is to pray for priests. As prayer warriors, we avail ourselves of grace through prayer, praying the rosary daily, fasting, reconciliation, daily Mass, the Holy Eucharist and Eucharistc Adoration. We pray daily the Prayer for Priests and the Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In doing so we become one with God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. "For it will not be you who speak but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you."

The Bible promises that we will triumph over the evil forces of the devil. We are the spiritual foot soldiers who follow our patrons, St John Vianney, St Alphonsus Maria Liguori, the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the Patron of Patrons, the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

There is no finer moment and a more humbling experience than to be with Jesus at all times. We abide by the faith and moral law of God taught by the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. We educate ourselves about the teachings of the Catholic Church. We obey and pray for the Pope, our Bishops and pray for priests to be on fire for Jesus and His Church the Body and Bride of Christ.

At the end of our lives, we will be judged not by what we said but what we did. We pray for the unborn, we actively participate in praying at Planned Parenthood. We help PAPA Joe feed the hungry. May our work bring ourselves and many souls to the endless joy of eternity.

God Bless You
