"And people brought to him a deaf man who had a speech impediment and begged him to lay his hand on him...
He put his finger into the man's ears
and, spitting, touched his tongue;
then he looked up to heaven and groaned, and said to him,
"Ephphatha!" (that is, "Be opened!") And immediately the man's ears were opened,
his speech impediment was removed,
and he spoke plainly."

REFLECTION
We often ask Jesus to heal what we perceive is the problem - in this case, a speech impediment - but it was really another problem that we don't know - in case, his hearing, audible feedback. Jesus always knows!
Can you imagine trying to speak without the feedback from hearing what we say? Do we not often speak without hearing ourselves? That can hurt deeply the people who love us most.
Let's bring to Jesus our prayers with what we perceive is the problem and leave it to Him to heal the real problem!
