ST CLEMENT HOFBAUER, C.Ss.R. 200th ANNIVERSARY MARCH 15, 2020

On March 16, 2020, PAPA celebrated with the Redemptorist community at Holy Ghost Church, Houston Texas, the 200th anniversary of the death (March 15) of St Clement Hofbauer, C.Ss.R. The Redemptorists at Holy Ghost Church are from the Denver Province. The Vietnamese brother Redemptorists of the Extra-Patrium Province of Vietnam joined in this special Mass.

St Clement was the first non-Italian to join the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, founded by St Alphonsus Liguori, in Italy. He was an active missionary who zealously spread the Gospel to the world. He began a number of foundations in Poland, Germany, and Switzerland. Upon his death the Congregation grew rapidly and spread to other continents from northern Europe.

St Clement once said, "It is more important to talk to God about the sinner than to talk to the sinner about God".

PAPA was born on October 5, 2017 in the St. Clement Hofbauer Chapel at the Redemptorists Monastery of the Extra-Patrium Province of Vietnam in Houston, Texas
