THE MOST HOLY NAME OF JESUS JANUARY 3, 2023

Gospel: Jn 1:29-34

REFLECTION

"Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world."

In our trip to the Holy Land, our tour guide and our spiritual guide would inform us of what we were about to see. They gave us history and a clearer understanding of what happened there two centuries away. When we arrived at our destination, we were ready to see what was highlighted. Their words and what we saw became a memory. We were prepared to focus on the important.

When God speaks to us or makes it clear to us what He wants us to know, there is no hesitancy. We are convicted and we boldly announce the news, focusing on what God wants us to experience and realize.

John the Baptist's ministry was to make Jesus known. God had infused him with the knowledge of who Jesus was. When he saw Jesus walking toward him, he said, "Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world."

Behold is derived from the Greek word 'eido,' which has the literal translation of: be sure to see. We are to fix our eyes, see with attention and observe with care Jesus, the Son of God, the Lamb of God.

Ponder, meditate and hold in our minds Jesus.

Breathe in Jesus, hold Him in your soul, and breathe out Jesus.

Is your heart focused on Jesus?

God Bless You
